Benedito Vives, Manuel (1875-1963)

He continued the tradition of the Valencian school of the 19th century until well into the 20th century. Although his apprenticeship with Joaquín Sorolla might suggest otherwise, Benedito remained faithful to a sober realist style with rather dark tones, far removed from the Valencian luminism.
