Vergara Gimeno, Ignacio (1715-1776)

From a family of artists, he learned his trade in the workshop of his father, Francisco Vergaria, and with his brother José. He is considered one of the most important Valencian sculptors of his time. He had many disciples, some of them as outstanding as José Esteve Bonet, who became an honorary sculptor to Charles IV.
