He was one of the most important Catalan draughtsmen and lithographers of the second half of the 19th century. He studied at the Llotja de Barceloana and also in Paris. There he worked for Goupil. He returned to Barcelona in the middle of the century to make a name for himself illustrating numerous novels. One of his most emblematic works is Historia de una mujer. He successfully cultivated erotic engraving in Academias de mujer.
