He began his activity as a bookseller in 1796 and as a printer in 1798. In 1808 he appeared as a member of a commission of the booksellers’ guild set up by the Barcelona City Council. Active against the French invasion, he had to flee the city of Barcelona and worked as a printer in Tarragona and Mallorca.
