Italian architect and engraver, known for his views of Rome. He worked as an engraver at the Calcografia Camerale founded by Pope Clement XII. In 1743 he published Vedute di Roma sul Tevere, and between 1747-1761 saw the publication of 10 volumes with approximately 240 engravings of views. His most renowned disciple was Giovanni Battista Piranesi.

He was also a renowned cartographer and writer.
