Catalonia, 19th century.
A very interesting graphic testimony showing the auditorium of the Comedy Theatre of the Isla de León with the protagonists and fathers who drafted the first Spanish Constitution, popularly known as “La Pepa”.
Pen and ink and watercolour on laid paper.
On the right, the empty royal throne and a symbolic portrait of the monarch under a canopy stand out.
The drawing has a mark of humidity that covers more than half of the drawing. In the unstained parts, the white wash has turned.
