The Moon is often a subtle testimony of love and not infrequently a promoter of sensual impulses. In this scene the three women appear in different poses between daydreaming and abandonment, contrasting with the determined advance of the male figure. The Moon occupies a central space in the composition that mediates between the space of the man and the woman, a space that is shortened and filled with erotic charge. Under the moon sign the latent sensuality of the scene becomes inescapable.
Pere Prat i Ubach was one of the most famous illustrators and humorists of the first half of the XX century, a contributor to magazines such as “L’Esquella” de la Torratxa or “en Patufet”.
