PABLO GARGALLO CATALAN (1881-1934)
Spain, 1928.
Print run 4/12.
Drypoint on laid paper with B F K Rives watermark.
Signed on plate: PG 28.
Very rare print by the artist. A single edition of 12 numbered copies was made of this work. The Pablo Gargallo Museum has the original plates of the only four drypoint engravings by Gargallo (Autorretrato, Cabeza de Arlequín, Desnudo femenino y Bailarina). A second printing of the following works has recently been made: Autorretrato, Cabeza de Arlequín y Desnudo femenino. However, no copy of La Bailarina is preserved since a second printing was never made. This print is the only one known from a print run of 12 known.
The original plate is preserved in the Pablo Gargallo Museum in Zaragoza.
Very good condition.
